Portland State University
This 2nd annual conference on Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum builds upon last year's conference at the University of Iowa by focusing on several topics:
  1. how to prepare students for CLAC through better K-16 articulation
  2. how to link foreign language instruction and cultural learning to discipline-specific content

A major goal of the conference is to begin to build alliances among educators to achieve internationalization goals. The conference will be held in conjunction with the 6th International Conference on Service Learning in Portland, Oregon, to allow participants to learn about incorporating CLAC into service learning experiences. These two events will overlap by one day to allow cross-conference participation. For information on this conference, visit the link at http://www.upa.pdx.edu/SLResearch06/.

The conference will also coordinate with the Washington Association of Foreign Language Teachers/Confederation in Oregon for Language Teaching (WAFLT/COFLT) Fall 2006 Conference: Many Languages, Many Cultures, One Vision. The WAFLT/COFLT conference will be held Oct. 13-14, 2006 in Portland. For information visit the link at http://www.open.org/coflt
