Science Outreach Society: Spreading Science to the Masses

The Science Outreach Society is a student club at Portland State focused on sharing a love of science. With the help of faculty advisor Dr. Ralf Widenhorn, students create lessons and give demonstrations to audiences of all ages throughout the state. Read more.


Student Inspired to Pursue Judaic Studies

Tavi Gupta thought college wasn't for her. She had dropped out of high school and worked several jobs in her twenties. However, after more than ten years away from school, Tavi obtained her GED, was accepted to the PSU Honors program and is now pursuing a degree in Judaic Studies. Read Tavi's story.


"Can We Talk About Coal?"

On May 2, the Department of Environmental Science and Management will host a panel discussion about the debate surrounding coal export in the Pacific Northwest. The discussion will encourage dialogue about the different economic, environmental, health, and social facets of exporting coal through the region. The 49th Annual Nina Mae Kellogg Awards Ceremony

On May 13, the English Department presents its annual student award ceremony and welcomes guest speaker, one of the world's leading gender and queer theorists, Jack Halberstam. His talk is entitled, "No Church in the Wild: Queer Anarchy and Gaga Feminism." Read more.
